The Sole Workshop Jet Black Sunblazer Review

The Sole Workshop creates handcrafted leather flip flop sandals of great quality. They started in 2016 and I got my first pair of The Waveriders in 2019 (not available any more). Five years later my Waveriders are still going strong. Now they released Jet Black Sunblazers and being a sucker for black leather stuff, I convinced that it's time to upgrade.

Usability & features

Vibram soles provide good friction. The sole of the flip flop is sturdy and harder than in the Waveriders that have a somewhat soft sole. With the harder sole, these are a bit less comfy to walk than softer sole alternatives.

Aesthetic & Design

All black, neat and clean looks. What's not to like - probably one of the cleanest looking flip flop in the market for all black style. The straps have a decorative leather tooling stripe to add a bit of action into the all black look.

Durability & Care

Vibram soles do last a long time. And of course, you can then resole these bad boys for even more use after you start wearing through the Vibram layer. As any leather product, you will want to clean and apply leather cream to these to keep them in tip top shape.

Final Thoughts

If you're looking for high end black leather flip flops that will last you a long time, the Jet Black Sunblazers are really a great choice. Additionally, you'll be supporting Belgian handcraft vs. giving your hard earned money away to some big faceless brand.

On the flipside there is a queue to get these, you'll likely have to wait a while for your turn.
